Juan Antonio Aguayo

 

SAN RAFAEL — Funeral Mass for Juan Antonio Aguayo, 69, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Rev Alberto Avella will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Friday Aug. 12, 2011, at Compassion Mortuary. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Aguayo died Aug. 10, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born June, 28, 1942, in Morris, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Aguayo was a retired ranch farmer.

Survivors include his wife Judy Aguayo of San Rafael; children Javier Aguayo of Albuquerque, Juanito Aguayo of Albuquerque, Luis Aguayo of Albuquerque, Sandy Aguayo of Albuquerque, Sarite Aguayo of Phoenix, John Aguayo of Phoenix and Anthony Aguayo of San Rafael; brothers Nono Aguayo, Mario Aguayo, Dagoberto Aguayo all of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and sister Tina Aguayo Chavez of Chihuahua, Mexico. Aguayo was preceded in death by his parents Nestor Aguayo and Sara Aguayo de Gutierrez; brothers Nestor Aguayo, Isidro Aguayo, Pedro Aguayo and sister Lilia Aguayo.

Pallbearers will be Juan Carlos Aguayo, Alonso Aguayo, Herman Aguayo, Jose Maldonado Jamie Cruz, Jose Villegas, Crystal Aguayo, Veronica Aguayo, Darlene Aguayo and Laura Aguayo.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Bitsie

MEXICAN SPRINGS — Services for Eleanor Bitsie, 61, are pending.

Bitsie died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Aug. 27, 1949, in Rehoboth into the Red Running into the Water and Folded Arms People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Genevieve Dennison

NEWCOMB — Funeral services for Genevieve Dennison, 76, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Christian Reform Church in Toadlena, N.M. James Belone will officiate. Burial will be in Toadlena.

Dennison died Aug. 9, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Toadlena into the Folded Arm People Clan born for the Bad Lands People Clan.

Dennison was a lifetime resident of Toadlena. She was living in Newcomb at the time of her death. Dennison enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons Robert Dick and Raymond Dennison of Newcomb; daughters Lorinda Dennison, Donna Dennison and Sherry Avery all of Gallup; sisters Marie Dick of Toadlena; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dennison was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Dennison and son Gilbert Dennison II.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Avery, Kevin Lewis, Karl Lewis, Kasey Lewis, Kyle Lewis and Chad Lewis.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Newcomb Chapter House.

Rita Saavedra Diaz

FARMINGTON — A Funeral Mass for Rita Saavedra Diaz, 91, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at St. Vivians Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate.

Diaz died Aug. 10, 2011, in Farmington. She was born Jan. 7, 1920, in San Rafael.

Survivors include her son Joe Richard Diaz, of Yuma, Ariz.; brothers Elias Saavedra, of San Rafael, and Teofilo Sonny Saavedra, of Grants; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Diaz is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Diaz; parents Alfredo Saavedra and Manuelita Saavedra; daughter Mary Francies Shaw; son Alfred Diaz; brother Gilbert Saavedra and sister Reyes Baca.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Angela Foguth-Kinlichinii

LUKACHUKAI, Ariz. — Funeral services for Angela LaWanda Foguth-Kinlichinii, 76, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug 13, 2011, in Tse Bonito. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2011.

Foguth-Kinlichinii died on Aug. 7, 2011, in Chinle. She was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Lukachukai into the Red House People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Foguth-Kinlichinii was an RN in Nebraska and retired in 1989. She enjoyed quilting, reading novels, traveling, fundraising, looking for bargains, classic movies and family vacations.

Survivors include her son John Foguth Jr. of Lukachukai; daughters Jennette Kinlichinii of Yakima, Wash, June Diocson of Garden Grove, Calif. and Amber Westbrook of San Jose, Calif.; sisters Marie Haskey of Tsaile, Ariz and June Notah of Round Rock, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Foguth, James Foguth, Andy Diocson, Chris Loomis, Roger Dyre and J.R. Davis.

Donations may be made to Tekamtra Katen Circle or St. Isabel Church in Lukachukai, Ariz.

Audrey Jean Manuelito

NASCHITTI — Funeral services for Audrey Jean Manuelito, 53, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Tohatchi Christian Reform Church. Jerome Sandoval will officiate. Burial will be in Tohatchi Cemetery.

Manuelito died Aug. 7, 2011, in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was born Nov. 24, 1957, in Gallup into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Sleeping Rock People Clan.

anuelito finished 10th grade at Wingate High School and worked at various jobs including housekeeping, a laundry attendant and a sales associate. She enjoyed doing crafts, listening to country/western music, taking pictures and baking varieties of food. Manuelito was an outgoing person who enjoyed being with her grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include her son Lionel Manuelito, of Page, Ariz.; daughter Raylynn Haskie, of Naschitti; brothers Dennis Manuelito Sr., of Springstead, N.M., Freddie Manuelito and Roger Manuelito, both of Gallup, and Robert Henry, of Shiprock; sisters Ella M. Williams, of Naschitti, Marian Newman, of Naschitti, Mable Tso, of Coyote Canyon, Marita Yazzie, of Gamerco, and Marylena Irving, of Naschitti; and four grandchildren. Manuelito was preceded in death by her father Alfred Manuelito; mother Bessie Manuelito and brothers Micheal Joe Manuelito and James B. Henry.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Manuelito, Jonathan Williams, Dalton James, Vernon Yazzie, Charolette Williams, Norbert Yazza and Derrick Johnson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Naschitti Chapter House.

Bessie Shirley

DEER SPRINGS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Bessie Marie Shirley, 77, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Family Church Assembly of God in Fort Defiance, Ariz. The Rev. James Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Deer Springs, Ariz.

Shirley died Aug. 9, 2011, in Sawmill, Ariz. She was born June 20, 1934, in Sawmill into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Shirley went to school at Sherman Institute in Riverside Calif. She worked with ONEO and retired from the Navajo Nation Headstart. Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of live stock. She loved being around her grandchildren and being involved with her church activities.
Survivors include her sons Harold Shirley of Flagstaff, Ariz., Paterson Shirley of Gallup; Peter Shirley of Yakima, Wash., Peterson Shirley of Farmington; Percy Shirley of Deer Springs; and Patrick Shirley of Deer Springs; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Paul Shirley Sr.; daughters Paula Shirley Nakai and Lauria Mae Joe; and her son Paul Shirley Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Shirley, Joshua Shirley, Freeland Shirley, Lydell Max, Ryan Joe, and CJ Joe.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Sawmill Catholic Church Hall.

Ronald Yazzie

CROWNPOINT — Funeral services for Ronald Yazzie, 60, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Crownpoint. Burial will follow at the Crownpoint Community Cemetery.

Yazzie died Aug. 10, 2011, in Crownpoint. He was born Aug. 9, 2011, in Rehoboth into the Water Flows Together Clan born for the Sagebrush clan.
Survivors include his wife Alfreda Yazzie, of Crownpoint; children Rydell Yazzie, Rylicia Yazzie, Vydell Yazzie, Ryan Yazzie, Rynie Yazzie, Rylan Yazzie and Alyssa Yazzie; brother Paul Yazzie Jr.; sisters Ethelyn DeGroat, Iris Brown and Elouise Yazzie. Yazzie is preceded in death by his parents Paul Yazzie Sr. and Betty M. Craig; brothers Sterling Yazzie and Lynn Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be his sons and nephew Sean DeGroat.
